Expectations
Tai Chi is a martial art that combines physical exercise, breathing meditation, lifestyle change and philosophical awareness of the world.
it is available to you here and now. There is no equipment needed,
no fitness level required and there are no limitations or restrictions.
All you need is an aspiration of attending to your health, your mind, and your practice and let’s begin with one step, one breath, and let’s get on this Tai Chi journey!

What are you looking for from Tai Chi?

Styles of Tai Chi

Whilst most tai chi teachers will assert that theirs is the best, it is for you to decide what you want and which approach/teacher best meets those expectations.

Qigong

Sometimes described as energy work, Qigong  (the tai chi hand form is also a Qigong routine) combine coordinated physical movements with internally cultivated strength giving power to these physical movements.

Benefits

It is difficult to find a system of exercise suitable for persons of all ages, which requires little or no special equipment, and which can be practiced in a relatively small area either indoors or outdoors.

Learning Process

There is agreement that the essence of learning is change and change that has some permanence. This involves the learning subject engaging consciously in a learning process involving the management of uncertainty, insecurity and anxiety, then support in the form of a competent teacher will be crucial.

The subject of learning process and competent teaching are of particular relevance given the TCUGB's interest in competency based awards.
